I have this huge History assignment/essay, and the first draft is due 2nd June. So I'm getting help from a friend who studies Medieval Literature and Old Norse plus many other languages. In the end (with his help), I decided I would base my assignment on Tolkien's Lord of the Rings legendarium, literature, linguistics and mythology. It's a broad topic but I'm sure I can narrow it down somehow.
I am looking forward to this topic, because it's...well, a way of life, for many people. Tolkien has had so much influence, and I think the better thing about this topic is that I will base it on more of a personal level of experience with Tolkien's ideas and writing.
Now the reason I'm writing this is because if anyone can help by giving links to any extraordinary sites involving these things, I'd be more than grateful. I know I can do it myself, but the more sources the better. And of course I can't find every great site on the Internet. Plus, I need all the good ideas I can get! Oh, and books, too - I have got a few I need to check out, but only a few. So, what can you recommend? Is this a good or bad idea?
I know there are loads of proper Tolkienologists on dA so if you can help, that would be super.
Thanks in advance.-
